a ballad for you

Title: To Be Near You
Vocals: Viktoria
Language: English
Album: Felicity OST
My 2 cent(avos): This sweet, sentimental song from Viktoria is all about the pain of unrequited love. I'm not sure, but I think she composed the song too. She's not really big in the Pinoy music scene right now, but 2-3 years back she was awarded several times for her album, Secrets. This song was also included in the soundtrack of the TV show Felicity. Worth a listen.^^

angel-voiced

everytime i listen to their 2003 tour performances, i become more and more of a Dochin fangirl.<333 so, to share the love, and as a sort of belated Christmas gift to jenn, hwei and any other chemistry fans who happen to drop by:

*right-click, save target as

Title: RIPTIDE (live performance~2003 tour)
Vocals: Dochin Yoshikuni
My 2 cents: Dochin's 2nd solo song, available on the album Second to None. In this performance, Kawabata participates a bit (background vocals). I thought Riptide couldn't be made prettier, and this proved me wrong.<3 Dochin's vocals seem to be more soulful here.

***i don't know how long this will be up, because freehomepages seems to have a penchant for deleting files/accounts randomly...O_o

enjoy, ne? spread the love.^^

ugh, cockroach >_<

i was happily surfing the net when...

*eerie bgm*

a cockroach starts crawling on the wall.

for a minute i was transfixed in my seat, watching it with a kind of horrified fascination. then i practically screamed for help. it's positively sissy but i live in terror of cockroaches.x_x ate gina came, but she wasn't armed with the insect spray, like i expected. she had a copy of the philippine star with her.

i watched again as she slapped the cockroach on the wall with the newspaper. the cockroach, being an annoyingly sturdy creature, scurried for cover. since it was still alive, my aunt brought out the heavy ammo, aka Baygon. but then my heroine had the nozzle pointing towards her, nearly spraying us with the stinky (yet incredibly useful) stuff.

she then proceeded to hold the dead creature by its antennae, and threw it in the trash bin.

it's my little sister's birthday tomorrow. i told her that she'd have to say goodbye to santa claus presents next christmas. she shrugged and said, "dad's the santa claus. i'll still be getting gifts."

oi. check out artemis fowl, the greatest 12-year old criminal mastermind ever. i just finished the first book (thanks dad), and it's fantastical and kind realistic/gritty at the same time. that might make no sense, but really, it is a great read.^^

teenybopperishness

i'll be changing the layout soon. swear.

i love the princess diaries (the book! the movie was...eeeh. the book is better!). yes, it's out.

i love, particularly, michael moscovitz, although he is nothing but words on paper (robert carmine brought him to life in the movie, but they're different.:p). and i like the whole mia + michael thing. not quite as much as bridget jones + mark darcy, of course, but that's beside the point.

michael moscovitz is a computer genius, talented musician, non-athlete with nice ceps (all of them, apparently: biceps, quadriceps...), valedictorian, great kisser and juvenile delinquent all rolled into one. plus he doesn't take crap from his genius, extremely extroverted sister.

if mia was able to snag michael, that gives hope to freaks like me. granted, there is no similar guy in my life that i've had a crush on forever. and, come to think of it, i have no close friend with a hot older brother. and algebra has never been much of a problem for me. and, although i am tall, i'm not completely flat-chested (unlike mia O_o). and i could never stand taking crap from some busty cheerleader. and oh, how could i forget: i am not a princess. so i am definitely no mia.

but i have hope. someday my own MM will come.

i feel like a giddy pre-pubescent.^_^;;;;

the last what?

just stuffed myself with pizza and fettucini alfredo. what a pig. XD

was watching the last samurai (pirated DVD) on the living room TV, and hana yori dango on the PC at the same time.:p but then my dad closed the door because the aircon was on (for cripes' sake, it's DECEMBER. y'know, chilly?x_o) so twas bye bye tom cruise. will watch it some other time. emperor meiji sort of cute there. hehe.

ha. so much for mocking my musical tastes. my dad is humming my gift to you this very moment.

wish i had dochin for christmas. or, let's face it, a suitable attainable dude who i'm not really sure exists.

that was a rhetorical question. it just crossed my mind.

overheard

you can hear the most inane things and make something out of them. like in the fx, the women i was sitting with at the back were talking about random, working girl stuff.

like how so-and-so broke up with her boyfriend for 7 years. it makes me wonder how two people can stay in love with each other that long. don't they get bored? even if you have a relationship that long, it still isn't enough to get to know the person and want to stay with him, as so-and-so proved. 7 years is a long time for a relationship, but not for a marriage. the prospect of getting married sorta terrifies me.

then there's marie*, who stinks. literally. poor marie has apparently never known the touch of a deodorant, roll-on or otherwise, on her armpit. that makes her fodder for conversation. that's sad.

***

looking at christmas lights make me feel lonely. i'm not sure why.

fat ass

the men of marikina are an appreciative lot. i know, it's like sexism/harrassment/chuvachu when you pass by and they hoot or give wolf whistles, but it's kinda flattering.

or maybe my ass is just fat, like everybody says.

anyway, i walked * a lot* today. it was becauseof a combination of stubborness, stupidity, and bad luck. i was paranoid about riding a jeepney i didn't know the route of because of what happened to me in high school. angel and i went to sm north, we got separated, i had no credits and her cellphone's battery was empty, so i decided to go back to the dorm by myself. after all, pisay was only about a few kilometers away from sm north. but i rode the wrong jeep and got to tandang sora. pfft.

but i digress. my goal was to go to sta. lu. i knew there was a jeep passing through there but i couldn't get out of sss village.O_o being there also brought back memories of lazy afternoons in st. scho, waiting for the stuck-up high schoolers to be dismissed so the school bus could start moving and we could get home. i think i walked something like 3 rounds of the acad oval.-_-;; what's unlucky is that my dad was in marikina at that time, picking up kim from school.

***
intolerable cruelty was mildly funny. i totally cracked up (all by myself, how sad) when george clooney said, "you fascinate me."

no, that was wrong. it was more like "YOU....fascinate me." *subtitle: yield to me, my siren, and together we shall ride the waves of ecstacy and magic...or just wallow in wealth, which is fine by me.*

gwehe.

real-life dochin?!?!

yes. nori, with his new spiky hairdo, looks like dochin. A LOT.

O_o

...heh.

jenn, sugoi da yo!^^ i ordered mine from yesasia (hehe, wheedled my dad after i saw your comment) just minutes before. i'm really looking forward to it.^o^ anyways, the newest chemistry product in yesasia is a limited edition cd+dvd whose title is yet to be announced. its expected release date is on february 2004.

i finished the technical paper in one night. no sleep. that's a major accomplishment for me.xD

ja ne. life's still not very interesting right now. oh, and i just heard "anything but ordinary" by avril lavigne a while ago, and tho i'm not into avril (too TH-punk, methinks), i liked the song.^^;;

testing, testing.

on a whim, i decided to post an mp3. (yes, i know i should be doing a technical paper. shush.) you think i should make this a regular thing? comment and let me know.^^ and, if you do download, PLEASE DELETE AFTER 24 HOURS. this is for sampling purposes only.^^;;
besides i'm just a poor student who wouldn't be able to pay for legal services if someone decides to sue.-_-

~ sugar free's best song, imho. the melody is catchy, you wouldn't know this is a song about unrequited love.=p it's a great opener for their album, "sa wakas" (at last). one of the heavy hitters in the pinoy music scene.

tragicsmile, salamat sa pag-correct dun sa banda. kahit na paborito ko ang sugarfree, magkalapit lang talaga sila ng pangalan ng stonefree.O_o at napakaganda ng kantang 'yon, pala.^^

EDIT: oh no. it's you! this is weird.@_@

***

HAAAAAAAAH. this sem is the most stressful one i've ever had.x_x granted, i've only been in UP for 1 sem, but...anyway.

why is my chem 17 prof so evil? while lecturing, he rocks back and forth, eeriely like a pendulum. add that to the time period of the class (1-2:30 pm), and it's a recipe for sleep. i would've cut class once or twice (hehe), but he gives a quiz every meeting. and these quizzes are those annoying quickie ones. he just writes something on the board (poof!), and when he asks you to pass your bluebook, you can only stare dazedly at him and do as he says, or get a zero.

oh, and i'm finally through with my math 53 long exam. it was 3 HOURS of sheer agony. by the time i was through, the math building was dark and i felt like i had melted butter for a brain. i hate proving by definition that a limit exists.

if exists, so what? good for it. i have better things to do that confirm its existence or make it feel self-actualized.

(whoa, that's bad. me talking back to numbers/variables/mathematical concepts.O_o)

anyways, still have tons of stuff to do. i also got unlucky with my physics 71.1 teacher. he's making us submit a technical paper on tuesday, when the other sections i know gets to submit theirs next year. pfft.>_>

ja ne. hope your days aren't this bad.^^;

(plan to change the layout soon. i want something gloomier. or maybe dochin-filled. care to help me?^^;;)
