SURPRISE! pee-chers.
Someone asked me what I was doing here. They do say a picture is worth a thousand words...
My desk and recently-acquired TV, without which I would not be able to watch NsTRDs [Not-so-Trashy Romance Dramas], music shows, etc.:3 Wall in front of desk is littered with postcards, pictures, notes to self, my soaked KEM button (;_;), and verb conjugations. See, I keep all the paraphernalia you send me, people!
Me and my self-appointed yukata coordinator. While I do appreciate all her help, I just wish she didn't block the left half of my yukata.:P
Every now and then, we also go out for karaoke. This time it was with the Fish Family: Su Lynn, Kismet and Mithuna [Me = Tuna]. Yes, Kismet, as in my sister's name. It is very disconcerting to associate a 30+ year old guy with your 14-year-old sister, but huh. He calls me his elder sister and asks after the other Kismet every once in a while. Mithuna is the youngest DOM I've ever met, ie. he is biologically 20+ years old but there is a lecherous old man just trapped inside that body. LOL. Needless to say, he likes [Japanese] girls.
Last Friday, the newest batch of yosakoi members had a fireworks thingie at a park near the university. Here, summer = festival = fireworks, but it was the first time for me to just buy fireworks and fool around [apart from New Year's Eve]. It's a lot of fun bonding with everyone, and it's good Nihongo practice, too. They're about my age or a little younger, since a lot are freshmen.
Still yosakoi. Hehe. Some Americans from Nagasaki University of Foreign Languages also joined the yosakoi club, so all in all we're 6 gaijin. Most of them are leaving by the end of July, I think, but one is gonna stay til maybe December, I'm not sure. This was after our "debut" at AMU Plaza, a mall here.
The goal is to reach this level of dancing.*_* The new mems don't have happi coats yet, we have a more basic-looking set of uniforms. The biggest festival for the club is going to be at the end of October, during which I am back home gearing up for school after a year of little or no intellectual stimulation.:P But I'll be back someday. Zettai ni.:)
On a totally unrelated note, this is the Korean singer Yoon Jong Shin [I must confess I am not sure. Will check again later]. My Korean friends have been telling me that he looks like a certain someone dear to me, ALTHOUGH OF COURSE MUCHMUCHMUCH LESS HANDSOME! Hah.
In case you're going, "What is this....yosakoi?! TELL ME!", Wikipedia has an entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yosakoi. :D

whattanight
1. World Cup match: Japan vs. Australia
2. Plain laziness
3. A man you don't know jumps out of the window of your laundry room in the 4th floor, after which the police arrive and investigate
Top 3 Reasons to jump out the Laundry Room in the 4th Floor [residents all female] of a Dorm:
1. A secret dream to be Spiderman [the Asian version]
2. Devastation at Japan's loss vs. Australia, 1-3 ["Japan lost! I want to die!"]
3. A sudden urge to jump off a high place [then why not the 5th floor?!] and break one's neck
But the police say these possibilities are v. low. He just might be a p e r v loitering around innocent girls' laundry rooms.
Gaah. In other news, freedom is a wonderful thing for someone I know. Heehee.

sapul.
Na itatago mo ang mga sulat ko
Kasi medyo maiinis ako
Kung itatapon mo...
'Wag kang mag-alala
Di ako luluha
Kung may kapiling kang iba
Di na pipilitin pa
Itong damdamin ko sa'yo
Medyo maninibago
Pero ayos lang sakin 'to
Summer has arrived. Summer! Yessss. Have already bought self a yukata [value set: + obi, boat-like geta, dainty little handbag], very pretty.*_* It's purple with sakura all over it. I wanted a white one [also with sakura :D] but apparently the purple one goes better with my face...0_o

what's going on
Limbs hurting for the past few days. Cannot sit painlessly like normal person, probably due to Soran [a type of folk dance] practice. It involves a lot of stretching
Things to Do:
1. Study French - Due to frequent class-skipping, I am now about as fluent as a tree in French. Not that trees should take offense; trees are nice, lovable creatures, but they can't speak French [yet].
2. Fix schedule for the next months - Due to various extra-curricular activities and the occasional baito gig, [and how can I forget] school, I have a ton of stuff to do for next month. Want badly to join next Seishun trip but it's on exam week, and there's also a yosakoi matsuri around that time. Gaah.
3. Pay National Health Insurance - A lady from the city hall actually came all the way to the dorm to hunt us non-paying foreign students.
4. Buy Salonpas - For my aching back, and everything else.
