The end of a dream

Have been itching since yesterday to watch The OC Season 2 DVDs, but thanks to my supreme self-control the blackout caused by the typhoon, resorted to sleeping instead. Excellent. Went out to Ayala today with family and was appalled at the damage the typhoon caused, and also at the huge gap between the rich and poor in this country. Also saw that bolero jackets are in style here, too. We are not as far behind in fashion as I thought, although the guys are totally not at the level of Japanese guys. But I was glad at the relative non-presence of shaved eyebrows.:)

In other news, I have a phone and SIM now, hurrah! Tis my old phone, but it's not too bad, if a bit battered [entirely my fault, careless being that I am].

Apparently I am now part of a certain activity which I didn't wholeheartedly agree to do, but...yeah. I know I have to lose weight but surely there are better ways which do not involve, oh, I don't know, ripped hymens??? However, nothing ventured, nothing gained, so let's go. Let's go.

It's good to be back, but every now and then I wish I was back in Nagasaki, to be truthful. That can't be helped, I suppose. Am looking forward to being busy when classes start. And, as advised by Jerome, will start reading Foust maybe tomorrow. Maybe.

A little bit of me still

I come back home and find things haven't changed a lot, except we have a new kitten [Yoda, calico cat and therefore female if I remember HS Bio correctly], a new TV, and a PC which is barely surviving. It has a pink-tinted screen, shuts down by itself randomly, and also cannot install iTunes. (;_;)

Home sweet home.

In the land of Mordor where the shadows lie

You'd see a view this beautiful. I wouldn't climb Mt. Doom Mt. Fuji again to see it though.

Climbing Mt. Fuji was one of the toughest (physical) experiences I've ever had, mainly because it was cold and it seemed to never ever end. Even now I kind of half-disbelieve the fact that we made it to the top. Sadly, I lost the moon charm on the cellphone strap Ceres gave me [Catharsis souvenir].:(

My Hokkaido experience was also unforgettable, but more on that later (plus I haven't uploaded pictures yet). I have yosakoi practice in half an hour. Speaking of yosakoi, we just had our super-fun-yet-with-sprinklings-of-teen-drama batch gasshuku [like a sleepover/outing thingy] and I hate thinking I will be leaving all this behind in 15 DAYS.

To everyone who might wanna know, I get to NAIA on September 26, 18:15 (PH time). Right now my room is a total mess [Who knew I could accumulate so much junk in a year???], I haven't done even 20% of pasalubong shopping, I am semi-panicking because I can't pre-enlist yet [Hello, ES 11 by MANUAL enlistment? I don't think so] and I am wondering who what will be waiting for me when I get back.

YESSS

Have been Internet-starved for 2 weeks now, so am using one of the hotel PCs for the steep price of Y100 for 10 minutes. Yes, that starved.

Hokkaido is great, my host parents are suuuuper-nice, and tomorrow I climb Mt. Fuji with friends. Hope I make it out without any missing body parts.

Also, tomorrow is September 3!!! Which means...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FRA! (23)

(Ceres, will get you the CD. The newest album, I presume?)
