Letters from Iwo Jima
I just finished watching, and wow. Nino (who plays Private Saigo, one of the main characters in the film) was great. I didn't expect him to have that much talent as an actor, truthfully. Great range, and he makes his character easy to understand and sympathize with.
Anyway, I get to watch a lot of war flicks, mostly unwillingly, because of my dad. This ranks among the unforgettable ones. It shows how human the Japanese are despite being the bad guy in WW2. Moving and definitely worth watching, even if you aren't into the whole genre. [Note: This is a war film, so don't expect Nino!HOTNESS! 'cause he's grimy and dirty all the time. Haha.]
School tomorrow. *sigh*

Old as the hills.
When I'm fangirling, it's like things are so simple: I
Aaand it's so fulfilling when you find out someone gets into the fandom you've been promoting (like Ouran, which will have its own drama HURRAH). :DDD

Waku waku**
**A Japanese onomatopoeiac expression referring to excitement
This has to be the least painful enrollment I've ever had (barring 1st year 1st sem). :D Except for the fact that I am now taking onse with people 2 years younger than me, and the humidity, I have nothing to whine about. Harhar. [Have promised myself will no longer dwell on onse suckiness. At least not in this blog.]
Summer grades also out! Onse was a drop (again, I mean what an idiot)* and 123 was surprisingly a 2.25. I fully expected to get a 3. Oh well, I'm not complaining. :D
I have a fairly good feeling about this sem. Probably because OH YES I HAVE GEs! Not one, but two! One's English (oh how I missed you so ;_;) and the other's Music (for my Philippine Studies requirement; supposedly we get to go on field trips and play around[?] with kulintangs or similar). And the teachers for my majors seem pretty cool.
Speaking of teachers, let me now chronicle here the pedagogues I (have) like(d):
1. Nobody in St. Scho, because all of the teachers I had were um, female.
2. Sir JLeg: HS Econ teacher. Always with a smile on his face and very easy to approach, he had a passion for teaching that influenced his students positively about serving the country. Plus he introduced me to the joys of Econ. And Latin phrases like ceteris paribus.
3. Sir J: Formerly chubby = adorable, but now lean and muscular = hot (Thank you Friendster for informing me of these things :P) lab instructor. He was really nice and a little weird, in an amusing sort of way. I even left a *cough* love letter, with John Boyle O'Reilly's White Rose, taped on his door during Valentine's Day, purporting to be from his secret admirer. (Altogether now: HAHAHAHA.)
4. Sir ?: Funny and nice and dorky, not even remotely cute in the conventional sense. V. smart and academic. The pace of his classes are really fast (woe to you if you relied entirely on the lecture slides), but he suggests ways to apply what we learned with out-of-the-box questions. Rather quirky. I (and certain other people, who alas don't have blogs and thus cannot be exposed) would like to have him QEd, so that he can bring out his full hot geek potential.
5. Sir !: *runs off wildly*

It's probably because almost all of my friends are going to be graduating this year, but I feel as if we were all in a race where everybody's close to the finish line except for the fat dude left behind (me). I gotta slow down. I have 2 years left in ChE, plus I haven't even made a dent on the stupid non-2X ES series.* And also have yet to form fully-functional heterosexual relationship in college, not that I'm still hoping. This has to be the least painful enrollment I've ever had (barring 1st year 1st sem). :D Except for the fact that I am now taking onse with people 2 years younger than me, and the humidity, I have nothing to whine about. It's just grades. It's just academics. It isn't life. At least that's what I try to tell myself when I feel, I don't know, a little sad about some choices I made.
People come and go, but they always leave a little something behind.
*So much for "not dwelling on onse suckiness"
